one more day...the shop's make over, before and after shots are coming. Everything is progressing slowly, I mean BEAUTIFULLY, in the shop. The new look is so fresh. You have to love what a simple paint job will do.
You do have to love it, right ? Packing up the paintbrushes for another fun filled day of Ben Moore White Dove.

endless...
or so it seems. Painting, I mean. Thought for sure we would be farther along with our shop renovations, but some things just beg for multiple coats of paint. So here I am, eleven hours later, still touching things up. Our before and after pictures will be have to wait a few more days.
I think we have given the catch word "re-purposing" new meaning. I really think I need to find a contest to enter Bernie in for his efforts in this project. In the center of our shop we ( Bernie ) had constructed a partition of sorts to accommodate cases we had built for our former shop. It was a large unit, and it worked well, but as we lived in the space we felt it was too much of a barrier physically and visually from customers as they entered the shop. Bernie took the unit completely apart and used almost every piece. You will see and I think be amazed how the wood was used and in totally different pieces. I'M impressed. You can be the judge when I post.
I guess I better keep going. When we open tomorrow, I plan on having our V-Day decorations installed in the front windows. I made them over a week ago, but multiple cans of Ben Moore Dove White has taken over my life since then.
A little cheese for my whine please....

stormy
Well, the latest 12-15 inches of snow has slowed things down a little. We continued painting and building, but had to call it early and dig our way home. The lovely change in from sub-zero record breaking temperatures to the balmy 30's has almost made all of the shoveling worth it. Almost.
Hopefully, I will have some renovation pictures tomorrow.
Some fun new scarves and eye glass cases arrived yesterday, those UPS delivery folks are fearless in this crazy weather !

a little shop talk
We have gone through our one- year in our new shop cycle ( actually it has been a year and several months, but I don't count the holidays ). So, here we are renovating, painting and getting ready for pretty new things for Spring. It has been a wonderful year getting to know the shop + studio space and really settling in. We love the beautiful light that the large front windows allow us, and the view of the Damariscotta River is nothing to sneeze at either. As we move things around and tear down the old apothecary shelving ( only kidding Sharon + Jeff ), we have vowed to maintain the center of the shop as open and airy as it has been in the past. It is so nice to roam around, check out new things and not worry about you or your bag knocking things over.
Breathing room.
We'll post pictures over the next few days, and hopefully by the weekend, the new windows will put everyone in the mood for LOVE.
til tomorrow,
Chris
