when the sun rises, painting begins

Well, what fun we have had during our sale. A great big thank you to all of our local customers and faithful web site pals. So much less inventory to pack away as we get ready for Spring, much cleaning, painting & even a little building to be done in the next week. The official re-painting of the shop begins Monday, but I am feeling inspired and may begin tomorrow. The shop will be closed next week as we re-vamp.

Several shipments of new inventory are already on the way, so there will be new things to check out on the 22nd when we re-open, so pop by the shop. I will post this week as we progress with cosmetic changes and other projects in the works.

See you soon,
Chris

let the fun begin

It's almost here. Our first clearance sale ! We have been busy in the studio Spring cleaning and organizing ( more on that next week ). It is amazing how much accumulates in the span of a couple of years. We work every day in our shop, we're there a lot. Sometimes it seems as though we are living there, and going through each area, drawer and cubby proves that we are spending a little too much time at work, so this clearance is not only great for our customers, it has been a very good thing for us too, taking a hard look at how we are approaching everything from production to sales and well, life.

Heavy stuff .

With this in mind we are implementing some changes in how we "do business". Basically this means streamlining schedules and becoming more dedicated to studio time. Allowing creative time outside of work that will bring so much more to our work and to our play.

Which happens at work.

Does this make sense to you ? It does to us and as any self employed person will tell you, owning your own business is a seven day a week endeavor. The trick is to love what you do. Which we do, so this process of Spring cleaning the shop and our business-life plan has been a very good thing. In the next few weeks I'll keep you posted on progress and plans.

If you are in Damariscotta this week stop in for some great bargains, everything in the shop will be 35% off for three days.

See you in town,
Chris

groundhog 1, Chris 0

I guess I spoke too soon and the groundhog was correct (again). Has there ever been a year when there was not 6 more weeks of Winter bliss ? What does this really mean in Maine, anyway ? So, today was snowy and frigid, a bit of sun toward the afternoon, but not the intense warm rays of Tuesday.

We spent the day in the studio Spring (!) cleaning, not fun. It was fun confirming beautiful new cotton & linen blend scarves to be arriving in a few short weeks, so light and pretty, in lots of uplifting sunny colors. Also, several of our current handbag companies have new designs for Spring, beside the new additions of handbag designers arriving in the shop, there will be so much to choose from. Hope to sneak peek pictures later this week.

It has been hectic getting ready for our first ever inventory sale, everything in the shop will be 35 % off for three days next week. The buzz is out around town. Stop by or shop online, sale begins next Thursday the 11th thru Sat. the 13th, just in time for your Valentine Day shopping.

corners

A beautiful day in Damariscotta.

I know that it isn't true, but it feels as though Winter has turned a corner, the sun is shining and the river sparkling. A bit cold, but almost no snow piles to speak of, just dirty March style hills of ice here and there. It is the perfect day to finalize plans for our Spring shop makeover. A power lunch planned with sharp Ticonderoga's and fresh legal pads ready for LISTS. I love a good list. So stay tuned for shop updates and news on new items found for the shop, from great new suppliers as well as new lines from our studio. We are excited to be expanding our mens selection and to add new areas of accessories for women.

See you tomorrow.

Chris
